Felix Rosenqvist will run a special Texas-themed livery in this weekend’s inaugural edition of the Java House Grand Prix of Arlington, as the NTT INDYCAR SERIES wraps up a season-opening triple-header of races with one of the most anticipated events on the calendar.
A brand-new addition to the schedule, the Arlington race takes place on a 2.73-mile street course laid out in the city’s sports and entertainment district. The track passes by two iconic sporting venues: AT&T Stadium, home of the National Football League’s Dallas Cowboys, and Globe Life Field, home of Major League Baseball’s Texas Rangers.
The new race also comes with an exciting new qualifying format on trial, as the decisive Firestone Fast Six segment will feature single-car, single-lap runs in a highlighted battle for pole position.
”I am so pumped for Arlington,” says Felix Rosenqvist. ”There’s always something special with a brand-new track that no one has set foot on before. I really love the challenge of trying to figure it out behind the wheel, and also with the engineers. The tweak to the Fast Six format also has me quite excited – I like that we’re trialling something like that to highlight the on-the-edge driving that segment promotes.”
With INDYCAR returning to Texas for the first time since 2023, Rosenqvist and Meyer Shank Racing will mark the occasion by deploying a bespoke design on the Swede’s MSR Honda this weekend, featuring branding from SiriusXM SEC Radio and Texas A&M University.
Rosenqvist’s partnership with Texas A&M University continues into the 2026 INDYCAR season and will take on a distinctive new look in Arlington, with the #60 Honda sporting a bold Aggie maroon livery. The collaboration comes as Texas A&M University – the No. 1 research university and the No. 1 public university in Texas – builds momentum toward celebrating its 150th anniversary in 2026.
“I think it’s really awesome that Texas A&M University has shown me so much support over the last year and to have them come back onboard and showcase a full livery for the Texas weekend, that’s really cool to see,” Felix Rosenqvist continues. “With how much Texas A&M and SiriusXM are leaning into this season, we’ll do everything we can to deliver a good result for them come Sunday.”
The INDYCAR field will get their first taste of the Arlington street track in opening practice on Friday. Following a second practice session and qualifying on Saturday, the inaugural Java House Grand Prix of Arlington is slated to take place on Sunday, spanning 70 laps.
