Heading into the busiest month in racing, it’s a development off the track that sets the tone for Felix Rosenqvist in 2026 as a new family member sees the light of day.
On Monday, May 4, Rosenqvist and his wife Emille welcomed their first child – a baby girl by the name of Stella – to the world at St. Vincent Carmel hospital outside Indianapolis.
“Normally I prefer to separate racing from my private life, but this is just such a big moment for us and an overwhelming feeling of love,” says Felix Rosenqvist. “Both mom and baby are healthy and as for me, I’ve never been happier or more proud. We are so excited about this new chapter in life. It fills me with a sense of purpose and perspective that I genuinely believe will only do me good on the track as well.”

Rosenqvist, 34, will not have to wait long for his first race as a father. As the Month of May kicks into gear for the NTT INDYCAR SERIES, activities at Indianapolis Motor Speedway get underway this coming weekend with the Sonsio Grand Prix.
Staged on the track’s road course configuration, the race traditionally serves as the official lead-in to the Indy 500, setting the stage for The Greatest Spectacle in Racing.
Rosenqvist has a strong record of speed at the IMS road course, taking his first-ever INDYCAR pole at the track in only his fifth series start back in 2019. That was followed by another NTT P1 Award in qualifying in 2022.
The bull’s-eye race result still awaits the Swedish driver, however, with Rosenqvist yet to make the podium at the venue – although seven top ten finishes means he’s usually there or thereabouts.
“The IMS road course has been good to me in terms of pace historically, and we’re coming off a strong race at Long Beach with our first podium of the season,” concludes the Meyer Shank Racing driver, who finished P2 in Southern California. “Hopefully I can channel all the positive energy in my life right now and make this a race to remember.”
Rosenqvist’s No. 60 MSR Honda will sport a dedicated livery throughout the Month of May, carrying branding from SiriusXM’s Morgan Wallen Radio in both the Sonsio Grand Prix and the Indy 500.
The Sonsio Grand Prix is a two-day event taking place across Friday and Saturday.
