Excitement is building as the 2025 NTT INDYCAR SERIES begins this weekend with the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, heralding Felix Rosenqvist’s seventh season in America’s premier single-seater championship.
Entering his second campaign with the Meyer Shank Racing (MSR) team, Rosenqvist heads to the streets of St. Petersburg eager to get back to business in the first of 17 rounds that make up this year’s schedule.
CALENDAR: 2025 NTT INDYCAR SERIES
The Swede is keen to build on a largely promising debut campaign with MSR in 2024, which yielded ten top six qualifying performances – including MSR’s first-ever pole position on the streets of Long Beach – and seven top ten race finishes.
Rosenqvist enjoyed a particularly strong debut for his new team in St. Petersburg a year ago, qualifying second and finishing fifth on the sun-lit Florida streets.
On his way to the front row, Rosenqvist also recorded the fastest lap ever set in St. Petersburg (59.270s) in the second of three qualifying segments.
Returning to the cockpit of his No. 60 SiriusXM Honda, Rosenqvist is pairing up with new MSR team-mate Marcus Armstrong this year, with the Ohio-based squad also entering a brand-new technical partnership with multiple INDYCAR champions Chip Ganassi Racing.
The new alliance will also see Rosenqvist work with a new race engineer in Ross Bunnell.
“I am beyond excited to start the year; it’s been a very long off-season,” says Felix Rosenqvist. “We feel ready to start things in St. Petersburg and the new partnership with Ganassi has been working out really great. The No. 60 SiriusXM Honda is looking great, I love the new livery, and I can’t wait to hit the track in competition mode this weekend. This is the time when the talking stops and the flag drops.”
The Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg gets underway with the opening practice session of the campaign on Friday. That is followed by a second practice hour on Saturday, leading up to qualifying later the same day. The season-opening 100-lap race goes green at 12:30 pm ET on Sunday.
U.S. viewers can catch the full 2025 INDYCAR season on FOX, with coverage also available through INDYCAR Radio network on SiriusXM Channel 218.
Like always, regular live updates will be provided throughout the weekend on Felix Rosenqvist’s social media platforms.
