Felix Rosenqvist will be aiming to carry over his encouraging pace from last week’s Music City Grand Prix when the NTT INDYCAR SERIES returns to its spiritual home in Indianapolis for this weekend’s Big Machine Spiked Coolers Grand Prix.
Rosenqvist enters the event fresh off the back of his best finish so far in 2021, taking eighth place in Nashville last weekend where he also made the Fast Six qualifying cut for the first time this year.
Having looked set for a better result still before a sequence of caution periods disrupted proceedings, the Arrow McLaren SP Swede carries good momentum heading into the second race of the season at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course (following the GMR Grand Prix in May).
“We’re back at the Indy GP layout again, and I think this will be a weekend of many answers for us as a team,” says Felix Rosenqvist. “We had a tough weekend here last time out, and so this is our best opportunity to actually measure how much we’ve progressed since then. I’m feeling confident. Nashville last weekend was a clear step forward for us on the #7 car, with our best qualifying and race of the year, so we’ll try and build on that and do even better this weekend!”
Rosenqvist and his competitors will hit the 3.9 km, 14-turn IMS road course on Friday for practice and qualifying, with the race – the Big Machine Spiked Coolers Grand Prix – going green at 12:45 pm local time (U.S. Eastern) on Saturday.
