NTT INDYCAR SERIES
PREVIEW: RD. 13 – MID-OHIO SPORTS CAR COURSE (USA)
For a third consecutive weekend, Felix Rosenqvist and his NTT IndyCar Series rivals will be out on track to battle it out in America’s top single-seater championship.
Following on from the narrow streets of Toronto and the high-paced Iowa Speedway oval, next up on the agenda is a more traditional venue as the sweeping Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course enters the frame.
This weekend’s event marks the 13th race on the 2019 IndyCar calendar. As unlucky a number as it may be, Felix Rosenqvist will have no fear for superstition on his visit to Ohio – on the contrary. In fact, the leading IndyCar rookie of the year is hopeful of another strong result as he returns to a track which, for very good reasons, will always remain close at heart.
“Mid-Ohio is where I drove an Indy car for the very first time in my first test with Chip Ganassi Racing,” Felix Rosenqvist recalls. “That was three years ago, and the start of this entire, amazing journey. It’s a track that will always mean a lot to me and I can’t wait for my first IndyCar race at Mid-Ohio. I’m really looking forward to it. We have had some convincing pace in recent road course races and hopefully we can carry that on to this weekend.”
Rosenqvist’s #10 Chip Ganassi Racing car will be sporting a brand new livery this weekend, featuring a black and green colour scheme in reference to team sponsor Clover.
Practice at Mid-Ohio begins on Friday. Qualifying is on Saturday while the 90-lap race is scheduled in for 4 pm local time (US Eastern) on Sunday afternoon.
