Sponsorship management and brokerage company Berathon will back defending champion Felix Rosenqvist’s bid for a repeat victory in the prestigious Macau Formula 3 Grand Prix on November 19-22.
Rosenqvist, who won the legendary Chinese street race in 2014 and thus will sport the number one on his Theodore Racing by Prema Powerteam entry in this year’s edition, will carry Berathon branding on his racing overalls, helmet and car throughout Formula 3’s blue-riband event.
Felix Rosenqvist heads into the Macau Grand Prix on the back of a record-breaking campaign in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship, with the Swede scoring 13 race wins, 24 podiums, 17 pole positions and 13 fastest laps on his way to the title.
“We are very happy to be represented at the world-famous Macau Grand Prix with European Formula 3 Champion Felix Rosenqvist,” says Berathon managing director Daniel Lehoczky. ”This partnership goes to prove that our company has access to the most famous top international motorsport events, drivers and teams. We are looking into expanding this exciting area of sponsorship to our clients for the future.”
The first Macau Grand Prix was held in 1954, with Formula 3 becoming the event’s centrepiece category in 1983. Staged at the ultra-challenging Guia street circuit, Macau is considered the most significant race on the junior single-seater calendar, with the likes of subsequent Formula 1 world champions Ayrton Senna, Michael Schumacher, Mika Häkkinen, Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton all having attended the Grand Prix.
“I’m thrilled to be heading back to Macau as the defending champion, and that Berathon have opted to join my quest for another victory,” says Felix Rosenqvist. “It is the race of the year, and we will have some good fun! I can’t wait to get out on track.”
