Felix Rosenqvist has been cleared to drive by the INDYCAR Medical Team and will return to his #7 Vuse Arrow McLaren SP Chevrolet this weekend for the Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio.
Rosenqvist underwent fresh medical checks on Tuesday morning following his heavy accident in Race 1 of the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix on June 12.
Rosenqvist was forced to miss two races in the wake of the accident, sitting out Race 2 of the Detroit double-header and the subsequent REV Group Grand Prix at Road America, but is now fit for return.
“I’m thrilled to be back racing this weekend at Mid-Ohio,” says Felix Rosenqvist. “I have been so well taken care of after the accident and I would like to thank Dr. Billows and the entire INDYCAR Medical Team for their professionalism in getting me back in racing shape. I am fully ready to get out there and push to the limit again, and I really can’t wait!”
The Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio begins with practice on Friday, with the 80-lap race going green at noon on Sunday, July 4.
