NTT INDYCAR SERIES
2024 season announcement
Felix Rosenqvist has signed a multi-year agreement with Meyer Shank Racing (MSR) in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES and will join the team at the birth of an exciting new chapter starting in 2024.
Rosenqvist – who finished second in the most recent INDYCAR race at Portland International Raceway last Sunday – will team up with Tom Blomqvist to form an all-new line-up at the Honda-powered outfit. The squad will also run a third car for Helio Castroneves in the Indianapolis 500, which it won in 2021.
“I’m super excited to start the next chapter of my INDYCAR career together with Meyer Shank Racing,” says Felix Rosenqvist. “The timing is right for this move, and I think it’s a great opportunity for both myself and MSR to elevate our level and grow stronger together.
“I’m also looking forward to getting to work with my old friend Tom (Blomqvist) again. We’ve known each other since 2009, so we go way back. I’m ready to go to work and I’m very excited to see what next season has in store.”
Based in Pataskala, Ohio, Meyer Shank Racing have competed in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES full-time since 2020, gearing up after contesting selected events between 2017-2019. For 2024, the team makes a fresh push to break into the upper echelons of the ultra-competitive championship.
“We’re very excited to have our 2024 INDYCAR plans finalized and to welcome Felix to the team,” says MSR team owner Mike Shank. “Felix is someone that has been on our radar for quite some time now, and everything lined up this year to work something out with him.
“It’s no secret that we’ve had a difficult season in 2023, with some things out of our control and some things in our control. I think we are all looking forward to resetting completely, starting over and getting to work. I think Tom and Felix will be a great match and really feed off of each other. We will also have Helio with us at every race to provide his feedback and advice, which will be an added bonus, so I think we’re in for a solid year ahead.”
Rosenqvist will arrive at Meyer Shank Racing following the conclusion of the current INDYCAR campaign, which draws to a close this weekend with the Firestone Grand Prix of Monterey at Laguna Seca.
