PREVIEW: NTT INDYCAR SERIES | RD. 5
GMR GRAND PRIX
The NTT INDYCAR SERIES is braced for a lot of drama at Indianapolis Motor Speedway over the coming weeks, culminating in the 105th running of the Indy 500 – but starting off events at the Racing Capital of the World is this weekend’s GMR Grand Prix.
Felix Rosenqvist heads to Indianapolis determined to fight back. Glitches in pitlane denied the Arrow McLaren SP driver a possible duple podium in the Texas double-header last time out; but the pace itself was highly encouraging.
Next up, then, is the GMR Grand Prix, which traditionally opens the Month of May activities at Indianapolis Motor Speedway with an 85-lap race around the venue’s infield road course layout.
“I scored my first INDYCAR pole at this track, so it’s always nice to be back,” says Felix Rosenqvist. “Yes, we have had a tough time to start off the season, but everyone is working hard and our pace in Texas was proof of that. Hopefully we can take that improved baseline into the GMR Grand Prix this weekend and onto the Indy 500.”
The GMR Grand Prix features two days of on-track activities, starting on Friday, with the race itself taking place on Saturday afternoon local time.
Immediately after the race, attention will shift towards practice week for the Indy 500.
