Mücke Motorsport will not have to conduct an engine change on Felix’s car ahead of next weekend’s FIA Formula 3 European Championship round at Pau.
Felix was forced to retire from Sunday’s final race at Hockenheim due to a loss of power, bringing about concerns that a potential engine change would incur a ten-place grid penalty for the next three races as prescribed by the sporting regulations.
After examining the Mercedes unit on Sunday evening, however, the team found no damage to the internal components, allowing Felix to travel to France without concerns of a grid demotion.
