Indy 500 winner Felix Rosenqvist backed up his recent career-defining success with another strong drive to sixth place in the Detroit Grand Prix.
Back on track just a week after his historic achievement at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Rosenqvist found himself in traffic in qualifying at the Detroit street course to line up 16th for round eight of the NTT INDYCAR SERIES season.
Another strong drive saw the Meyer Shank Racing driver make up ground to eventually finish P6 in Motor City, however, continuing his strong run of form.
“We started 16th and tried to go off-strategy, and we even got kind of screwed two times on it, so I was surprised we were still running that good,” says Felix Rosenqvist. “We had a really good last restart, we were 11th and came out sixth. Some people crashed and we passed a few cars, so we kind of played it semi-aggressive survival game, and it worked out pretty good for us.”
Following today’s result, Rosenqvist sits sixth in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES standings approaching half time in the season.
The high-paced run of races continues flat out for Rosenqvist and his INDYCAR rivals, with round nine of the season coming up next weekend (June 6-7) at World Wide Technology Raceway.
