INDYCAR have announced a rescheduled date for the 104th running of the Indianapolis 500, moving the prestigious event from its traditional May slot to August 23 in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
The news also sees the postponement of the GMR Grand Prix, originally set to be staged at the Indianapolis road course in early May, to July 4.
This means that the 2020 NTT IndyCar Series season is now preliminarily slated to begin with the Detroit double-header on May 30-31.
