An emphatic Indy Lights double in 2016; now back as a fully-fledged\u00a0NTT IndyCar Series driver. Felix Rosenqvist returns to the city of Toronto this weekend\u00a0to try and lend further weight to his street circuit reputation. \u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

In a career containing considerable\u00a0success across a host of racing disciplines, one of the most powerful weapons\u00a0in Rosenqvist’s arsenal has been his street circuit expertise.<\/span><\/p>\n

Winning the prestigious Macau Formula 3 Grand Prix twice – and the category’s famed Grand Prix de Pau once – the Swede later took the route to IndyCar via the street track-based Formula E series in which he continued to win another sequence of races.<\/span><\/p>\n

As for his American endeavors, it was back in 2016 that Rosenqvist first demonstrated his trademark skills in the Indy Lights championship; winning on his debut on the streets of St. Petersburg before sweeping the weekend in central Toronto later in the year.<\/span><\/p>\n

This weekend sees the 27-year-old return to the Canadian city as the leader of the IndyCar rookie classification, looking to make the most of a venue he thoroughly enjoys.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Toronto is a good opportunity for us to score some significant points and have a go at another strong result,” says Felix Rosenqvist<\/strong>. “I’ve got great memories from there, winning both races on my final weekend in Indy Lights in 2016, and Toronto is also one of my favorite cities in general. It’s always slightly easier returning to a track you already know; to that end, Toronto is a bit like St. Pete for me.<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

“Looking back at the first half of the season, it seems that street tracks have been probably our biggest strength pace-wise. I’ll head into the weekend with high hopes,\u00a0but also with realistic expectations.”<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Rosenqvist’s #10 Chip Ganassi Racing car will sport a revised livery this weekend, influenced by team partner Cessna. Practice in Toronto – the only non-US round of the IndyCar season – begins on Friday.<\/span><\/p>\n\n
