Felix Rosenqvist continued to build his oval-track proficiency by completing Saturday night\u2019s IndyCar race at Texas Motor Speedway.<\/strong><\/span>

The Swedish rookie drove his #10 NTT DATA Ganassi car to 12th\u00a0place in what marked only the second oval race of his IndyCar career, cashing in some highly valuable experience throughout 1 hour and 55 minutes of high-speed racing at the 1.44-mile super speedway.<\/span>

Rosenqvist completed the near-600 km race at an average speed of 184.4 mph (296 km\/h), which compared to winner Josef Newgarden\u2019s 186.0 mph (299 km\/h).<\/span>

\u201cThe goal today was to run all the laps, complete all the laps, and gain experience,\u201d says Felix Rosenqvist<\/strong>. \u201dWe tested here before but this was my first race at Texas Motor Speedway, which is very different to Indianapolis where we raced a few weeks ago. We had a game plan, and we accomplished what we set out to do tonight in the NTT DATA Honda. This is something we can build on and improve upon for future ovals.\u201d

Rosenqvist\u2019s night under the Texas floodlights was damaged by a drive-through penalty for speeding in the pitlane, putting him out of contention for a stronger result.<\/span>
\u00a0<\/span>
With four races \u2013 the Indy 500, the Detroit double-header and the Texas oval \u2013 having taken place within the scope of the last two weeks, the IndyCar fraternity will now take a short but well-needed break until racing resumes at Road America on June 21-23.<\/span><\/p>\n
