\"FP1\"<\/a>Felix did not enjoy the kind of start he was looking for as the FIA Formula 3 European Championship kicked into life at Silverstone on Friday, after\u00a0engine problems brought running to a\u00a0premature end in\u00a0free practice.<\/p>\n

After leading the M\u00fccke Motorsport charge by grabbing tenth in the opening 40-minute session, Felix ran into trouble early on as practice recommenced after a five-minute break, eventually completing just seven more laps before parking up in the pitlane with a loss of engine power.<\/p>\n

M\u00fccke Motorsport do currently not know what caused the\u00a0issues, but work is\u00a0underway to rectify\u00a0the problem in time for\u00a0this afternoon’s all-important qualifying sessions – the first of which\u00a0commences at 13.40 local time.<\/p>\n

Practice was topped by Van Amersfoort Racing’s Max Verstappen, who recorded a 1m51.716s best\u00a0towards the end of the session. Despite sitting out the last 30 minutes of running, Felix remained the fastest M\u00fccke Motorsport representative on a 1m53.001s.<\/p>\n

FELIX:<\/p>\n

“That obviously wasn’t the start we’d been hoping for,\u00a0but hopefully it’s not too serious.\u00a0The engine lost power at the beginning of the second session, right after the five-minute break, and\u00a0the team is currently looking into\u00a0it. Driving-wise,\u00a0the\u00a0running we did do felt quite\u00a0OK,\u00a0but we do have a few things to\u00a0work\u00a0on going\u00a0into qualifying.\u00a0It’s still early\u00a0days and\u00a0I look forward to seeing where we are this\u00a0afternoon.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
