Felix Rosenqvist will be back for a second season of racing in the FIA Formula E Championship, extending his deal with Mahindra Racing to cover the 2017-18 campaign.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Rosenqvist\u2019s renewed agreement comes on the back of a highly successful rookie season in the all-electric championship, with the Swede taking Mahindra Racing\u2019s first-ever Formula E win at the Berlin ePrix and claiming another four podiums on his way to third place in the standings.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m thrilled to be back for a second season in Formula E, and to extend my relationship with Mahindra Racing,\u201d\u00a0says Felix Rosenqvist<\/strong>. \u201cThat was our mutual intention from the very beginning, and we\u2019ve already completed a series of promising tests with the new M4Electro in recent months. Moving into the new season, I will draw on everything I learned in 2016-17 to try and lift us to the next level. It will be a massive challenge in stiff competition, but we have a solid foundation and are all\u00a0fully committed to taking the fight to the very best.\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

25-year-old Rosenqvist will contest the up-coming Formula E campaign as part of an unchanged driver line-up at Mahindra Racing, with Germany\u2019s Nick Heidfeld also staying on for another season.<\/p>\n

\u201dFelix produced an incredible rookie performance last season, unrivalled so far in this championship,\u201d says Mahindra Racing team principal Dilbagh Gill<\/strong>. \u201cHe was the one who gave us our first Formula E win, and \u2013 together with the efforts of Nick \u2013 he has been instrumental in Mahindra Racing\u2019s recent transformation into a proper frontunning operation. We\u2019re thrilled that both Nick and Felix will remain with us next season and I\u2019m confident that our new race car, the M4Electro, will prove to be our strongest yet and enable us to fight for wins and championships.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The 2017-18 FIA Formula E Championship is set to feature 14 races across five different continents, kicking off with a double-header event in Hong Kong \u2013 where Felix Rosenqvist set the VISA Fastest Lap last year \u2013 on December 2-3.<\/p>\n

New additions to the calendar include races on the streets of Santiago (Chile), S\u00e3o Paulo (Brazil) and Rome (Italy). The season will conclude with a pair of double-header meetings in New York (USA) and Montreal (Canada) in the summer of 2018.<\/p>\n
