\"Felix-pole\"<\/a>Felix came out on top of a dramatic second qualifying session for the 2014 Macau Grand Prix to secure pole position for Saturday\u2019s Qualification Race, heading Esteban Ocon and Max Verstappen as he set a blistering pace around the streets of the Chinese peninsula.<\/p>\n

After heading the times in this morning’s free practice session<\/strong><\/a>, Felix went into qualifying as one of the favourites for pole, and duly delivered in style as he threw in a scorching 2m11.506s\u00a0best to deny Lotus F1 junior\u00a0Ocon\u00a0by\u00a00.236 seconds. Third-placed Verstappen, who has already signed an F1 deal with Scuderia Toro Rosso for\u00a02015, ended up just a\u00a0further\u00a00.005s in arrears,\u00a0with Felix’s\u00a0M\u00fccke Motorsport team-mate Lucas Auer in fourth.<\/p>\n

Both Ocon\u00a0and Verstappen will have to serve two-place grid penalties for tomorrow’s Qualification Race, however,\u00a0effectively leaving the path open for a\u00a0M\u00fccke Motorsport front row lock out.<\/p>\n

Felix\u00a0set his time\u00a0without a\u00a0slipstream\u00a0on the ultra-long run to Lisboa,\u00a0suggesting there was room for further improvement,\u00a0but made up for it by\u00a0setting a storming pace in the\u00a0twisty, wall-lined\u00a0mountain section where he comfortably\u00a0headed his opposition.<\/p>\n

The Macau Grand Prix\u00a0Qualification Race starts at 13.45 local time tomorrow.<\/p>\n
