\"Felix<\/a>Felix Rosenqvist brought the 2014 FIA Formula 3 European Championship campaign to a close with fifth, sixth and fourth respectively in this weekend\u2019s three races at the Hockenheim finale.<\/p>\n

Rosenqvist\u2019s best shot at the podium came in the third and final race of the meeting on Sunday, with the Swede setting off from third on the grid following a strong qualifying showing.<\/p>\n

The M\u00fccke Motorsport man, however, dropped behind Britain\u2019s Jordan King on the opening lap, and eventually had to make do with fourth \u2013 although he could at least take some comfort from having beaten both 2014 champion Esteban Ocon and 2015 Toro Rosso Formula 1 signing Max Verstappen across the line in the final race of the season.<\/p>\n

Rosenqvist ends up eighth in the 2014 FIA Formula 3 European Championship standings, having scored one victory as he triumphed in the Grand Prix de Pau street race at the beginning of the summer.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was hoping to take at least one podium away from here this weekend, so I\u2019m obviously disappointed,\u201d says Felix Rosenqvist<\/strong>. \u201cThe pace just wasn\u2019t strong enough in the final race, where I had my best shot, and it\u2019s been pretty much the same story all year. It\u2019s been difficult. I will now sit down with the team and analyse what I could have done better, and what we could have done better together, to make sure I learn from this season for the future. It\u2019s the worst feeling in the world not to achieve your targets, but one thing is for sure: I\u2019ll be back.\u201d<\/p>\n

While the FIA Formula 3 European Championship season is now over, Felix Rosenqvist has one race remaining ahead of him in 2014; the blue-riband Formula 3 world finale on the streets of Macau (China) in November.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
