\"R3\"<\/a>Felix capped off the 2014 FIA Formula 3 European Championship campaign with fourth in the final race of the season at Hockenheim on Sunday morning.<\/p>\n

Starting from third on the grid, Felix slipped behind Jordan King on the opening lap, and then spent most of the remainder of the race defending fourth\u00a0from Antonio Giovinazzi.<\/p>\n

Having survived an attack from the Italian in the Mercedes Arena, Felix opened up a more comfortable gap over the second half of the race, eventually taking the chequered flag\u00a00.8 seconds ahead of the Carlin man.<\/p>\n

While the outcome saw Felix just miss out on a podium he so\u00a0eagerly craved,\u00a0he\u00a0could at least\u00a0take some comfort from having beaten both 2014 champion Esteban Ocon\u00a0and 2015 Toro Rosso Formula 1 driver Max Verstappen across the line in the final race of the\u00a0season.<\/p>\n

Felix ends up eighth in the 2014 FIA Formula 3 European\u00a0Championship standings, having\u00a0scored one victory\u00a0as\u00a0he triumphed in the Grand Prix de Pau street race at the beginning of the summer.<\/p>\n

FELIX:<\/strong><\/p>\n

“I’m really, really\u00a0disappointed right now – there’s no point trying to hide it. I\u00a0did everything I could to get onto that podium today, but the pace\u00a0simply wasn’t good enough.\u00a0I was driving at the limit and I couldn’t have pushed harder – the car was really, really on the edge. It’s been the same story all year, really, and it’s been difficult. I will now sit down with the team and analyse what I could have done better, and what we could have done better together, to make sure I learn from this season for the future. It’s the worst feeling in the world not to achieve your targets, but one thing’s for sure: I’ll be back.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
