\"Q1\"<\/a>Felix will start the first FIA Formula 3 European Championship race of the Hockenheim weekend from seventh place on the grid.<\/p>\n

After topping the times following the\u00a0opening flurry of laps in the first of Friday’s two qualifying showdowns, Felix ran wide at the fast\u00a0Motodrom Kurve halfway through the session, with his M\u00fccke Motorsport car reacting strangely afterwards with suspected suspension damage.<\/p>\n

As a result, Felix did not feature in the final battle for\u00a0top positions, tumbling to seventh.<\/p>\n

Race 1 pole position went to F1-bound Max Verstappen, who topped the session on a 1m32.002s. Felix’s best lap remained an early\u00a01m32.485s effort.<\/p>\n

Regular GP2 frontrunner Stefano Coletti – making a\u00a0guest appearance in the\u00a0FIA F3 European Championship this weekend as he prepares for the forthcoming Macau Grand Prix – qualified 20th, one second behind Felix.<\/p>\n

Next up today is Qualifying 2, which commences at 17.40 local time.<\/p>\n

FELIX:<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Things\u00a0were feeling great in the beginning of the session, but after I ran wide into the Motodrom, something happened. I think I picked up some sort of suspension damage, because I wasn’t able to push any more. It was a shame, but it was my own fault and I will try to do better in the second session\u00a0later today. The potential is there to challenge for the front row,\u00a0and that’s what\u00a0I’ll\u00a0go for.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
