The site of the emphatic victory clean-sweep was the stunning Red Bull Ring in Austria &#8211; widely regarded as\u00a0arguably the most picturesque racing circuit in the world, beautifully set among the hills and valleys surrounding the Styrian village of Spielberg. Despite being shortened on safety grounds in the 1990s, the venue has always been known for its high-speed nature and long straights, punctuated by 90-degree corners and sharp hairpins.<\/p>\n<p>Top speed is a vital performance differentiator at the Red Bull Ring &#8211; especially in race trim to either execute or defend from overtaking attempts.\u00a0Of equal importance, however,\u00a0is the twisting final sector of the lap, which requires a completely different set of characteristics from the car.<\/p>\n<p>While sectors\u00a0one and\u00a0two are primarily about traction out of corners and that all-important top speed, the concluding segment is a very contradicting story, lending itself towards preferably high levels of downforce in pursuit of cornering grip. This paradox makes the Red Bull Ring a demanding challenge for drivers and engineers alike, as they seek the optimum trade-off between outright\u00a0straightline speed and a balanced car in the fast corners.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>FELIX&#8217;S PERSPECTIVE:<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;The Red Bull Ring will always hold a special place in my mind given the triple win I scored there last\u00a0year, and it&#8217;s a\u00a0circuit I enjoy massively. It suits me very well, and I would lie if\u00a0I said that\u00a0we haven&#8217;t got high ambitions going into this weekend. The points structure mirrors that in use in Formula 1, running to the <strong>25-18-15-12-10-8-6-4-2-1<\/strong> system (with the top ten finishers in each race scoring points).<\/p>\n<p><strong>The grid<\/strong> for all three races is set in the two qualifying sessions. For Race 1, the starting order is established by the outright results of Qualifying 1, while the subsequent second qualifying session forms the grid for Race 2.
