{"id":219,"date":"2014-04-04T18:04:06","date_gmt":"2014-04-04T16:04:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/u638601.web01.cust.bluerange.se\/?p=219"},"modified":"2014-04-12T17:45:59","modified_gmt":"2014-04-12T15:45:59","slug":"2014-pre-season-testing-hungaroring-day-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/felixracing.se\/en\/2014-pre-season-testing-hungaroring-day-1\/","title":{"rendered":"2014 pre-season testing: Hungaroring | Day 1"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/u638601.web01.cust.bluerange.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/2014-FIA-F3-Test-1-Suer-0871.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-217 alignright\" alt=\"Felix Rosenqvist\" src=\"http:\/\/u638601.web01.cust.bluerange.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/2014-FIA-F3-Test-1-Suer-0871-300x200.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/felixracing.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/2014-FIA-F3-Test-1-Suer-0871-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/felixracing.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/2014-FIA-F3-Test-1-Suer-0871-1024x682.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/felixracing.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/2014-FIA-F3-Test-1-Suer-0871-1024x682-561x374.jpg 561w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>Felix\u00a0completed a productive programme\u00a0of running as\u00a0official\u00a0FIA Formula 3 European Championship\u00a0pre-season testing got\u00a0underway at\u00a0the Hungaroring on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Taking to the\u00a0Hungarian Grand Prix venue for the\u00a0first time, Felix and M\u00fccke Motorsport enjoyed a largely trouble-free opening day of testing,\u00a0running regularly inside the top five\u00a0while\u00a0building their understanding of the new technical regulations that come into force in the championship this year.<\/p>\n<p>With\u00a0the new 2014-spec engines producing an\u00a0approximate 20 bhp\u00a0more power than their predecessors,\u00a0but\u00a0being significantly heavier, the focus was on optimising weight distribution and\u00a0finding a baseline set-up for the\u00a0up-coming campaign.<\/p>\n<p>Felix ended the day fifth fastest overall and as the top Mercedes-powered runner,\u00a0just over two tenths of a second shy of pace-setter Max Verstappen (the son of former F1 racer Jos).\u00a0Felix&#8217;s M\u00fccke Motorsport\u00a0team-mates, Lucas Auer and Roy Nissany, wound up seventh and 12th on the timesheets.<\/p>\n<p>The test concludes tomorrow.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>FELIX&#8217;S VIEW:<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\n&#8220;A good start to the season, with a lot of work completed. We&#8217;ve focussed mainly on the installation of the new engine, particularly on weight distribution which is\u00a0going to be an important factor in the early stages of the year.\u00a0We had some issues\u00a0with the\u00a0new paddle shift system, but nothing major and the car generally\u00a0ran reliably.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The circuit is good fun, and I definitely enjoyed it. We ran competitively in both sessions, although\u00a0I set my best lap on very old tyres.\u00a0We didn&#8217;t manage to\u00a0improve on\u00a0new rubber towards the end, which was a bit strange, but I think\u00a0it was mostly down to fitting them a little bit too early.
