{"id":1920,"date":"2014-06-27T14:50:07","date_gmt":"2014-06-27T12:50:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/b106543.web05.cust.bluerange.se\/?p=1920"},"modified":"2014-06-27T15:15:45","modified_gmt":"2014-06-27T13:15:45","slug":"felix-completes-norisring-practice-programme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/felixracing.se\/en\/felix-completes-norisring-practice-programme\/","title":{"rendered":"Felix completes Norisring practice programme"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/b106543.web05.cust.bluerange.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/FP1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-1918\" alt=\"FP1\" src=\"https:\/\/b106543.web05.cust.bluerange.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/FP1-300x199.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" srcset=\"https:\/\/felixracing.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/FP1-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/felixracing.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/FP1-1024x682.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/felixracing.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/FP1.jpg 1400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>Felix\u00a0worked his way through an uninterrupted\u00a0FIA Formula 3 European Championship free practice programme at the Norisring as on-track activities\u00a0got underway on the streets of Nuremberg on Friday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>The full 80 minutes of practice took place under clear blue skies and\u00a0in lovely\u00a0summer temperatures, with all 26 drivers showing impressive maturity to gradually build their confidence around the barrier-lined venue and not a single red-flag stoppage hindering the acclimatisation process.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/b106543.web05.cust.bluerange.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/dust.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-1924\" alt=\"dust\" src=\"https:\/\/b106543.web05.cust.bluerange.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/dust-300x199.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" srcset=\"https:\/\/felixracing.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/dust-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/felixracing.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/dust-1024x682.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/felixracing.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/dust.jpg 1400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>With the F3 cars being the first\u00a0to venture out on track this\u00a0weekend, the early stages of the session\u00a0featured the\u00a0standard\u00a0street circuit procedure of cleaning up the racing line, with large\u00a0amounts of dust initially being thrust off the ground as drivers\u00a0began touring what is normally used as public roads.<\/p>\n<p>Felix was on the pace from his first sequence of laps, ending up third on the timesheets at the halfway point of the session (less than a tenth off pace-setter Max Verstappen), although he would eventually drop back to seventh on the overall list as times continued to tumble in the second part of running after\u00a0heading out on new tyres earlier than most of his rivals.<\/p>\n<p>Verstappen stayed on top with a 48.387s best, while Felix dedicated the final stages of running to set-up comparisons and wound up 0.479s off the Dutchman.<\/p>\n<p>As expected, lap times were incredibly close at the 2.3 km circuit, with a full 20 drivers covered by less\u00a0than a second and the entire field bunched up by 1.522s.<\/p>\n<p>Qualifying for the first race of the weekend takes place later this afternoon.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>FELIX:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;A solid and trouble-free start to the weekend. We were on the pace in the first part of the session, but then we dropped back a little bit in the second half, which I think was mostly due to us completing our new-tyre run earlier than the\u00a0others when the track was less rubbered-in.
