Felix Rosenqvist will start next Sunday\u2019s 109th running of the Indianapolis 500 from the second row of the grid after a strong showing throughout qualifying weekend aboard the #60 Meyer Shank Racing Honda.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

After advancing from the opening day of qualifying on Saturday, Rosenqvist returned to Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sunday for the decisive sessions \u2013 setting a blistering pace to lead the way in the initial Top 12 shootout and haul himself firmly into the last-stage Firestone Fast Six.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once there, Rosenqvist was the final runner to take to the track, completing the 2025 qualifying showdown with a 231.987 mph (373,3 km\/h) four-lap average that ultimately proved good enough for fifth on the grid for \u201cThe Greatest Spectacle in Racing.\u201d

With the Indy 500 traditionally featuring three-car starting rows, Rosenqvist will share the second row of the grid with multiple INDYCAR champions Scott Dixon (P4) and Alex Palou (P6).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The effort marks Rosenqvist’s fourth consecutive top ten start in the Indianapolis 500. It is also the best-ever qualifying result for Meyer Shank Racing at the famed oval event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201dUnfortunately only P5, which is still great,\u201d says Felix Rosenqvist<\/strong>. \u201dI feel like honestly we gave it a really good shot. The car was right on the edge for as comfortable as I could drive it and what we thought was possible today. For some reason, we just didn\u2019t have the speed when it mattered \u2013 but the second row is amazing and we will definitely have a good shot at it next Sunday.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

All 33 qualified cars will next return to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Monday for a two-hour practice session to start off race week. A final two hours of practice will follow on Carb Day on Friday, leading up to the 109th Indianapolis 500 on Sunday, May 25.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
