\"R2\"<\/a>Felix made up five positions to come home fourth in an action-packed second race of the weekend at\u00a0Spa-Francorchamps.<\/p>\n

In the best conditions seen so far at the Belgian meeting,\u00a0the F3 field put on an exciting race that featured\u00a0one safety car period,\u00a0several controversial\u00a0incidents, dedicated overtaking moves and thrilling slipstreaming duels along the Kemmel straight.<\/p>\n

Felix started the race from ninth following yesterday’s wet qualifying lottery, and held on to the\u00a0same position around the first sequence of corners. He then\u00a0gradually picked off his slower rivals one by one over the following laps, overtaking Felipe Guimaraes, Tatiana Calder\u00f3n (who would go on to score a career-best fifth), Alexander Toril and fellow Swede John Bryant-Meisner to find himself sitting sixth at the\u00a0half-way point.<\/p>\n

Up ahead, Lucas Auer then collided dramatically with F\u00e9lix Serrall\u00e9s while battling over fourth, bringing out the safety car. As a result, Felix was promoted to P4, right on the tail of Gustavo Menezes (Van Amersfoort Racing).<\/p>\n

The safety car restart brought with it no change in positions, with Felix unable to challenge Menezes down the straights\u00a0despite repeatedly getting within striking distance of the American\u00a0through the twisting middle sector.<\/p>\n

Max Verstappen scored a second\u00a0“home” win of the day (the Dutchman living in\u00a0the Belgian village of\u00a0Hasselt), while Esteban Ocon came home second ahead of Menezes and Felix. The top four were separated by just three seconds.<\/p>\n

The final race of the weekend takes place tomorrow morning.<\/p>\n

FELIX:<\/strong><\/p>\n

“That was an OK race, and a good way to wrap up today.\u00a0We were competitive in terms of lap time – I was\u00a0able to run in the 2m11.4s bracket, along with Max and Esteban, but it’s\u00a0still quite clear that we’re lacking\u00a0speed on the straights. I\u00a0was a lot quicker than\u00a0Menezes in the closing stages, but\u00a0wasn’t even close to lining him up for an overtaking attempt, so that’s something we’ll have to look at for the future.\u00a0Other than that, it was a fun race with lots going\u00a0on, and fourth from ninth is decent progress.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
