Felix Rosenqvist gets his 2025 racing season underway this weekend, bidding for a landmark victory in the prestigious Rolex 24 at Daytona sports car classic.<\/strong>
 
Racing for overall honours in the top GTP (Grand Touring Prototype) class for the first time in the famed Florida enduro, INDYCAR regular Rosenqvist is forming an all-star line-up with previous Daytona winners Scott Dixon, Colin Braun and Tom Blomqvist for Acura Meyer Shank Racing.
 
Sharing the team\u2019s #60 Acura ARX-06 hybrid prototype, the quartet is understandably aiming high, with Meyer Shank Racing\u2019s #60 entry having won the race in both 2022 and 2023. 
 
Although competition is set to be fierce as America\u2019s premier endurance race plays out for the 63rd time, Rosenqvist is in a realistic position to fight up front, gunning to become the first Swedish driver in history to win the 24 Hours of Daytona outright.
 
\u201cIt\u2019s great to get the season going in Daytona and to join such a strong team straight out of the box in one of the great races,\u201d says Felix Rosenqvist<\/strong>. \u201cIt\u2019s the first time for me racing in the top category, which is super exciting, and we know there\u2019s a realistic chance to go for the win. Rosenqvist and his team-mates joined the rest of the field at Daytona International Speedway for the traditional \u201cRoar\u201d practice outings last weekend, setting the third fastest lap across seven sessions. The sister #93 MSR Acura, driven by Nick Yelloly, Renger van der Zande, Alex Palou and Kaku Ohta, was P2.

\u201cThe Roar went well and we got through a decent programme, getting everyone up to speed and myself acquainted with this type of car,\u201d\u00a0Felix Rosenqvist concludes<\/strong>. \u201cIt\u2019s a very impressive programme by everyone at Acura and Meyer Shank Racing, and it would be a dream to reward everybody\u2019s efforts with a watch on Sunday.\u00a0

\u201cIt\u2019s going to be a long, long race, but I\u2019ve never been this excited for it and we\u2019ll give it everything we\u2019ve got.\u201d<\/em>

A standalone highlight in its own right, the Rolex 24 at Daytona also marks the season-opening round of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. This year\u2019s race features a bumper grid of 61 cars across four classes, including 12 in GTP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Build-up continues on Thursday with another pair of practices, and the qualifying session that will set the grid for the race. Friday features a final one-hour practice, with the race then set to start at 1:40 pm ET on Saturday.
