Felix Rosenqvist has made the cut to the final day of Indianapolis 500 qualifying and remains in contention for pole position in \u201cThe Greatest Spectacle in Racing\u201d.<\/strong>

Rosenqvist made a single attempt on the opening day of qualifying weekend on Saturday, producing a four-lap average of 232.547 mph (374,2 km\/h) good enough for seventh place among 34 entries.\u00a0

The effort came despite a late slot of 24th\u00a0in the running draw when the track was heating up.

Rosenqvist is one of three Honda-powered drivers to make the Top 12 cut-off, returning to action on Sunday to dispute the front four rows for next weekend\u2019s blue-riband race of the NTT INDYCAR SERIES season.

\u201cIt\u2019s been a good day, really happy to make it into the Fast 12,\u201d\u00a0says Felix Rosenqvist<\/strong>. \u201cThe balance of the car was consistent and I think we had four solid laps. Great job by Meyer Shank Racing and Honda! We will look through all the data tonight and try to go even faster tomorrow, and I think we’re in contention for the Fast 6. Wherever we end up from now, though, we\u2019re in a great place for the race next weekend.\u201d<\/em>

Sunday\u2019s decisive qualifying showdown will feature a two-stage format, starting with the Top 12 knockout round and culminating\u00a0in the Fast 6 pole position shootout.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
