Children\u2019s of Alabama Indy Grand Prix (USA)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Felix Rosenqvist is looking to maintain his early season form as the NTT INDYCAR SERIES departs the streets of Long Beach to set camp at Barber Motorsports Park just a few days later.<\/strong>

In a quick turnaround for the championship, Rosenqvist will engage in a fresh round of battle with his fellow rivals this weekend in Alabama, having once again demonstrated frontrunning pace last time out in Southern California.

Rosenqvist snatched pole<\/a> for last weekend\u2019s Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach, extending a highly convincing qualifying streak of 2-1-1 to start off the 2024 season.

Although he eventually slipped to ninth<\/a> in the race as his Meyer Shank Racing machine developed braking issues, Rosenqvist\u2019s start to the campaign has been largely positive, yielding a pair of top ten finishes in the first two rounds of the season and a podium at the non-championship Thermal Club event for good measure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Currently holding sixth place in the standings, Rosenqvist is taking a cautiously optimistic approach into this weekend\u2019s\u00a0Children\u2019s of Alabama Indy Grand Prix, which plays out on the Barber Motorsports Park road course.

\u201cWe tested at Barber a couple of weeks ago, which is helpful,\u201d\u00a0says Felix Rosenqvist<\/strong>. \u201cIt\u2019s good to have that under your belt going into the race weekend where most of the other teams haven\u2019t. It\u2019s the first road course of the (official) season and I\u2019m excited to see how the car is going to feel.\u201d<\/em>

Rosenqvist has a best finish of ninth at Barber from four previous visits, scored last year, while Meyer Shank Racing has yet to start or finish in the top ten at the Alabama venue.

\u201cFor this weekend, I think we need to keep an open mind,\u201d\u00a0Rosenqvist continues<\/strong>. \u201cIt\u2019s a track that we pointed out that we want to work on. I\u2019m not sure that our package will be as strong as it was in Long Beach, but I do think we have a good baseline to work with. We\u2019re keeping our expectations in check and we\u2019ll see how this one goes.\u201d<\/em>

Sunday\u2019s Children\u2019s of Alabama Indy Grand Prix will run for 90 laps and go green at 12:30 pm local time (U.S. Central). Practice begins on Friday, with qualifying following suit on Saturday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
