Felix Rosenqvist is ready for a fresh start in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES after leaving the month of May behind and ushering in an exciting new prospect at the overhauled Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix. <\/strong>

While Rosenqvist ultimately retired from last weekend\u2019s Indy 500 while battling for the win in the closing stages, the Arrow McLaren driver is packing only the positives from a strong performance overall at the Brickyard \u2013 which included leading for 33 laps<\/a> \u2013 as he heads to engine supplier Chevrolet\u2019s home race in Michigan.

Staged on the Belle Isle parkland circuit over the past 30 years, the Detroit Grand Prix will enter a new era this weekend when the event returns to its original roots on the city\u2019s downtown streets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019ve recovered after Indy and, with a couple of days of reflection, I now feel like we have everything in the toolbox to go win some races,\u201d says Felix Rosenqvist<\/strong>. \u201cThere is no better place to start doing that than in Detroit, a race the team has won in the past out on Belle Isle, and the home event for Team Chevy.\u201d <\/em>

The move to downtown means carte blanche for Rosenqvist and his rivals, setting up a complete walk into the unknown as round seven of the 2023 NTT INDYCAR SERIES comes into play.

The all-new venue features a 1.7-mile, 10-turn circuit, circling the iconic GM Renaissance Center. Uniquely on the calendar, it also boasts a split pitlane with cars due to pit in two separate lanes, right and left.   

\u201cIt\u2019s going to be an exciting weekend with a brand-new downtown layout and that split pitlane,\u201d Felix Rosenqvist continues<\/strong>. \u201cIt\u2019s actually something we had at times in Formula E when I raced there, but it\u2019s obviously all new to INDYCAR. Many of my career highlights have come at street tracks, so I can\u2019t wait to try out a new one!\u201d<\/em>

Practice for the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix begins on Friday. Qualifying is slated for Saturday, and the race \u2013 spanning 100 laps \u2013 will run on Sunday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
