Felix Rosenqvist was forced to retire from Saturday night’s NTT INDYCAR SERIES race at World Wide Technology Raceway with technical issues.<\/strong>

Rosenqvist put in a strong performance in qualifying for the Bommarito Automotive Group 500 to take tenth on the grid for the last oval race of the year, despite running as early as third in the qualifying order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the race, however, the Swede’s troublesome campaign continued with a stalled engine in the pits in the early stages, putting the Arrow McLaren SP driver out of strategic sync.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rosenqvist battled back to the fringes of the top ten in the middle phase of the race, but was ultimately forced to retire when he lost drive with 50 laps to go of the 260-lap event.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We just never seem to catch a break this season,” says Felix Rosenqvist<\/strong>. “Qualifying was good and we had some pretty serious pace in the car this weekend, but once again it never paid out for us. It’s disappointing to retire like that, but it’s part of the sport, and we’ll keep working to come back stronger in the last three races.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The NTT INDYCAR SERIES resumes in Portland on September 10-12; the first leg of three back-to-back west coast races to cap off the 2021 campaign. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
